About Me

I fell in love with sports at a very young age. I tried soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, and swimming. By high school, I knew I would not be a collegiate athlete, but I wanted to be around the world of sports. I already loved writing, so journalism was the perfect way to combine my passions.

I used journalism as a way to inform myself. As I wrote more, I read more. I opened my mind and grew as a person and a writer. I began working for my school newspaper, where I wrote about anything I could. However, writing about sports and entertainment enthused me on another level.

While I was born and raised in Paducah, Kentucky, most of my family is from Memphis, Tennessee. It is not a far drive and my parents would take me to Memphis Grizzlies basketball games. There, I became indoctrinated as a diehard fanatic. Here, is a picture of 10-year-old me with 6'11" Marc Gasol, a former Memphis Grizzly.

 Now, I write for Grizzly Bear Blues, the official SBNation blog for the Memphis Grizzlies. If I told this little boy that he would get to professionally write about his favorite team one day, he would not have believed me.
